Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix<\/em> \u2018Wellenspiel\u2019<\/strong>, is a magnificent ivy with three-lobed, forward-facing leaves, often twisted with a wavy leaf margin.<\/p>

The side lobes sometimes overlap the central lobe. This is its main varietal characteristic. The centre of the leaf is green with a few small irregular spots, mint green or grey-green. The edges of the leaf are cream-coloured.\u00a0In winter, the edges of the leaves turn pink in very cold, dry weather.<\/span><\/p>

It grows moderately and has a compact, branched habit.\u00a0Use in pots and in small areas of the garden as ground cover. This is a perfectly hardy ivy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This cultivar was discovered in 2004 by Robert Krebs of the German Ivy Society in the garden of the monastery in Flensburg, Germany, where it was sold under the name \u2018Lemon Swirl\u2019. In 2007, it was also sold by a florist in B\u00f6klund, Germany, under the name \u2018Nina\u2019. In 2011, it was given the name \u2018Wellenspiel\u2019. It is now sold under this name alone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
