The Fatshedera lizei<\/strong> is a small shrub resulting from a cross between a Fatsia and a Hedera hibernica. Its broad palmate leaves are particularly graphic.<\/p>

The leaf blade has 5 clearly defined, deep lobes<\/p>

Choose a cool spot in part shade. It will add an exotic touch to your garden. It may also be suitable for a Japanese-style garden.<\/p>

Beware, however, of hardiness. It cannot tolerate temperatures below -12\u00b0C. It does not like cold draughts or heatstroke. Apart from that, it's an easy plant to grow, indoors or in the garden.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This hybrid was created by the Liz\u00e9 brothers from Nantes in 1912. They had the ingenious idea of crossing Fatsia japonica \u2018Moseri\u2019 and Hedera hibernica, which both belong to the botanical family Araliaceae.\u00a0<\/p>

The result is a plant that inherits the strengths of both parents: the strength and grace of Fatsia, the ease of cultivation and resilience of Irish ivy.<\/p>

It was an immediate success. Other varieties of Fatshedera subsequently appeared, mainly as a result of the mutations to which ivy is prone.<\/p>

The name of the plant is a reminder of its origins: Fatsia and Hedera. lizei<\/em> recalls the name of its creators (the Liz\u00e9 brothers).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
