        Do all ivies crawl?<\/span><\/h2>\n

        The vast majority of ivy plants are creeping and make excellent ground cover. But here, as elsewhere, there are exceptions.<\/p>\n

        Some ivy forms a rounded tuft<\/strong> that doesn't spread out. They are perfect for rock gardens, for example. These include \u2018Pittsburg\u2019, \u2018Ralf\u2019 and \u2018Perkeo\u2019. <\/p>

        Others form a small shrub <\/b>erect. This is particularly true of \u2018Congesta\u2019 and \u2018Erecta\u2019. Their stems are upright rather than creeping.<\/p>

        Finally, all the ivy adults <\/b>have a shrubby habit. These varieties were able to crawl during their juvenile stage. But when they reach the adult stage, they stop crawling and climbing.
